Description
Rafting for Wishes is an annual fundraising event benefiting Make-A-Wish New Hampshire. Held in Meredith Bay and on land at Hesky Park, this year's event will take place Friday, July 17th - Saturday, July 18th. We will have a kickoff celebration beginning at 5:00PM on Friday in Hesky Park where we will encourage all team members to attend. The 24 hour event will start at 6:00PM. This event is open to the public and we encourage everyone to get involved!
We will once again have a corn-hole tournament for all participants and the public to participate in right at Hesky Park beginning right after the event kickoff.
Now in its 10th year, this event has raised nearly $1 million. Since this event moved to Meredith Bay we have appreciated the support of the Lakes Region community. This year our hope is to have 25 teams representing various businesses and groups comprised of individuals from all over the state. Together, we hope to raise $275,000 to help grant wishes for kids right here in New Hampshire.
A team is made up of 1-20 participants and is tasked with the goal to have their team raft "manned" for all 24 hours. Each team of 10 is challenged to raise at least $3,000, a minimum of $300 per individual. Each additional team member (after 10 team members) is expected to raise $300, increasing the overall team minimum goal. Every team is given one raft to house their belongings and provide shelter/place to sleep during the 24 hour event. Top fundraising teams going into the event weekend get first dibs!
In addition to creating a team, there are other volunteer and sponsorship opportunities for anyone looking to get involved. Teams have the option to help secure event sponsorships to help them achieve their team fundraising goal i.e. if a team member gets a $250 or more sponsor/donation, that donor gets the perks of a sponsor and that donation is added to the page of the individual who requested the donation.
