Description
Christmas and New Year’s was a time of celebration at the English Tudor court of the 16th century. Elaborate masques and revelries coincided with feasts and gift-giving. While modern Christmas draws many of its traditions from the late 19th/ early 20th century, we can find some parallels in Henry VIII’s world. This talk will explore the sights, sounds, and smells of a Tudor Christmas. Hail and Wassail! Join historian Mike Glaeser for what promises to be a festive evening!
