Grab your beach chair and join us at the beach for an afternoon of cool drinks, sweet treats, and book talk! This is a once a summer book discussion in a relaxing beach setting. This year’s selection is Commonwealth, by the acclaimed bestselling author and winner of the PEN/Faulkner Award and the Orange Prize, Ann Patchett. Commonwealth tells the enthralling story of how an unexpected romantic encounter changes two families’ lives. The novel follows the path their lives take over the course of 40 years, through love and marriage, death and divorce, and a dark secret from childhood that lies underneath it all.
