The League of NH Craftsmen Meredith Fine Craft Gallery is pleased to celebrate NH Open Doors with emerging artist Molly Harper of Gilmanton, NH. Molly will demonstrate her creative processes Saturday May 6th from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Gallery located at 279 Daniel Webster Highway, Meredith, NH. Having first discovered a love for ceramics and wheel working while attending Gilford High School she has developed her craft into a young business, Soul Pine Pottery. Throughout college, ceramics and art became a creative outlet for Molly while working on her degree in Environmental Policy. “Too much time spent away from the studio after graduation in 2012 showed me just what my restless spirit was pining for- the clay!” Drawing her inspiration from growing up in rural New England, Molly is able to capture the spirit of the natural world with her detailed depictions of the various birch trees of the region. Her work is functional. Vases, tea lights and containers for decorative arrangements bring a little bit of nature to your indoor world. Made with stoneware clay and then meticulously carved with the iconic details of birch bark you will be sure you are looking at an actual birch log until you look closely at the artistic details of her creations.
