This workshop will begin with gentle stretching, then move into a full restorative practice with the Crystal Singing Bowls, followed by Yoga Nidra. All levels are welcome. No prior yoga experience necessary.
Restorative yoga is a receptive practice that prioritizes stillness, relaxation, and a calmer state of mind without discomfort, stress, strain, injury risk or pain. Poses will be held for several minutes using props for support you and comfort, allowing you to let go and create a pathway for restorative balance. Numerous health benefits of Restorative Yoga are increased health and release of tight muscles and connective tissue. It has long been recognized for its ability to relieve stress and anxiety, boost immune function, and help people heal from illness and trauma. Yoga Nidra, practiced lying down, is a guided meditation that induces progressive full-body relaxation and inner awareness. Clinical research has shown the effectiveness of Yoga Nidra in improving sleep, balancing the nervous system, healing psychological trauma, and managing chronic pain. It is used at medical centers to treat PTSD, insomnia, anxiety, and chronic pain.
Yoga Nidra and Restorative Yoga together, cultivate a profound sense of joy, peacefulness and well-being. It is recommended that you wear comfortable clothing and refrain from eating a full meal two hours prior to the workshop.
