Description
The Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Meredith Program are pleased to host Kent Devereaux, President and Chief Academic Officer of the New Hampshire Institute of Art (NHIA), as he presents “The Arts and New Hampshire's Creative Economy”.
Mr. Devereaux is meeting with business groups throughout the state to discuss the importance of a healthy arts community as an essential ingredient in creating a thriving economy. The presentation covers a range of topics including how the arts have changed over the years, how the arts bring people together and provide shared cultural experiences that strengthen the fabric of a community.
This important presentation is possible due to the collaboration of community partners including the sponsorship of Belknap Economic Development Council.
The presentation will be held in the Steamboat Room at Chase House in Meredith coffee and muffins will be available. Seating begins at 7:30 AM with the program beginning at 7:45 AM on Wednesday, September 28.
Pre-registration is required for this event as seating is limited.
Meredith is home to the Meredith Sculpture Walk and is a fitting location for a discussion of the economic impact of the arts.
Following the presentation at 9:00 AM, guided tours of the Meredith Sculpture Walk will be available.
