Top fundraising St. Jude Walk/Run Boston team continues to fight against childhood cancer with First Annual St. Jude Charity Disc Golf Tournament in Memory of Alanna Marcotte CANTERBURY, NH (Jun. 4, 2019) – The First Annual St. Jude Charity Disc Golf Tournament in Memory of Alanna Marcotte will be hosted at Top O’ The Hill Disc Golf Course on Saturday, Jun. 22. Community members will throw for a cause with St. Jude Walk/Run Team, PeaceLoveAlanna, to support the lifesaving mission of St. Jude. The tournament will consist of two rounds featuring professional, advanced and intermediate players. Players with little to no experience are encouraged to participate as well. Additional supporters include Tuckaway Tavern, who will cater the event, and Innova Champion Discs, who will donate raffle prizes. Formed in honor of Alanna Marcotte, who lost her courageous battle with cancer in 2014, Team PeaceLoveAlanna was the top fundraising team for the 2018 St. Jude Walk/Run Boston and the fourth top fundraising team nationwide. Last year the team raised over $80,000 to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and will return to the 2019 event in September with the goal of raising $100,000. “Team PeaceLoveAlanna is a group of people who are truly dedicated to raising funds to support St. Jude in memory of Alanna Marcotte,” Kylie Grenier, the event’s coordinator, said. “We hope to make this event a success and have it become one of our many annual team fundraising events.” Thanks to generous walkers and runners, and events like this, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
