Name: LRAA Artist Brenda Goodearl Art Exhibit, "Wild Horses, Wolves & Waves"
    Date: June 22, 2018 - July 15, 2018
    Event Description:

In a special showing, titled “Wild Horses, Wolves and Waves,” New Hampton artist Brenda Goodearl will be exhibiting her unique oil paintings and several terracotta sculptures.  The show will be held at the Lakes Region Art Association Gallery, located at the Tanger Outlets in Tilton, from June 15 to July 15.  In homage to one of her favorite painting subjects, the Goodearls had “chocolate horses” made by the Chocolate Factory, to be given out to those adults who visit the exhibit and register in the guest book, while the supply last.  A number of them are still availalble, so take a ride and visit this unique showing.  The show is being held in the West Gallery (rear area) of the Main Gallery; the West Gallery is open to the public so feel free to walk back there.

Goodearl paintings are unique in that she paints in oils on various surfaces such as marble, wood panels, and aluminum.  Each piece of marble has its own grain and coloring that adds to the painted image.  Upon completing her paintings on wood panels, she applies encaustic wax and fuses it to the surface with heat to enhance the oil paint and for durability.  This is a simplified version of the ancient Egyptian coffin paintings that have lasted over 5000 years.
If you attend this show, you will also have the opportunity of seeing the Lakes Region Art Association's "Poetry Inspired Art" Show going on at the same gallery until the end of June.
