Description
The League of NH Craftsmen Meredith Fine Craft Gallery would like to recognize one of our talented woodworkers who will be participating in the Meredith Gallery’s NH Open Doors event. Aaron Clapp is known for what he calls his “Natural Wonders,” hand-carved spoons he creates from the unusual pieces of wood he finds traversing the New Hampshire forests. Clapp is mostly self-taught, and although he usually makes wooden spoons, he has also made cabinets, a skill he learned from Mark Hopkins of Canterbury, NH. Some of his spoons are ¬¬part of a collection bequeathed to the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, MA. Clapp will be demonstrating the process of how he makes his wooden pieces at the League of NH Craftsmen Meredith Fine Craft Gallery during our NH Open Doors event on the weekend of Nov. 2 and 3, 2019, from 12 pm to 4 pm. Stop in the Meredith League of NH Craftsmen Meredith, Fine Craft Gallery to fully appreciate the work of this talented artist and to watch his crafting in action. To inquire about his work, call us at (603) 279-7920, visit our website at http://meredith.nhcrafts.org/, or stop into the gallery at 279 Daniel Webster Highway, Meredith, NH. The League of NH Craftsmen is a non-profit organization that encourages and promotes the creation, use and preservation of fine contemporary and traditional hand craft. The League represents the signature of excellence in fine craft, through the work of its juried members, and its rigorous standards for self-expression, vision, and quality craftsmanship.
